Welcome to Aspire Childcare Project

About UsWho We Are

Aspire Childcare Project (ACP) was formed in January 2012 to answer the need for affordable quality childcare services in Southwark during term-time and school holidays.

Desmond who worked as the Area Manager for After School Services for Southwark Council, aided by Lee who also worked for Southwark Council (as Play Officer) worked to put together a safe and exciting playwork programme with excellent childcare facilities that includes a breakfast and after school clubs as well as holiday schemes.  We are an Ofsted registered provision.

Qualified and experienced staff are on hand to provide a stimulating programme of activities providing fun yet stimulating play opportunities and informal learning experiences for children. The Aspire Childcare Project offers provision that is flexible for parents needs and of good value.

The children are offered a range of rich and varied play opportunities. The planned activities on offer include sports, games, arts & craft, music, drama homework support and cooking. The children also have the opportunity to play freely with their friends.

We provide breakfast (toast/cereal, juice, fruits and yogurts) for those who are registered for the breakfast club.

We provide a varied healthy snack daily in line with the Every Child Matters agenda for all children who attend the our after school clubs/holiday schemes.
Your child s’ religious/cultural/ medical requirements will be taken into consideration when providing breakfast and snacks.

Aspire Childcare Project (ACP) aims to be accessible to children and families from all sections of our local community. Admission to the club is organised by the Manager and we use a waiting list system when the need arises. The waiting list will be operated on a first come-first served basis, with the exception of siblings who will have priority for the same days as a sibling already attending.

We require a completed set of application forms for your child before they can attend the club. This information will be treated as confidential and will be stored appropriately.

Re-enrolment for September is required at the end of the summer term. We cannot keep a place open for your child unless you complete a new registration form.

Two weeks deposit must be paid to secure an After School /Breakfast/Holiday Club place. This deposit is refundable when giving one month written notice for withdrawing your child from the After School Club. Fees are to be paid in advance for each month on first working day of the month or the following day in the event of an inset day or Bank Holiday. Days booked are non- transferable and non refundable. This includes holidays, sickness absences, adverse weather conditions or school closures. We do not charge for bank holidays.

Fees are payable by cash, cheque, direct debit/standing order, postal order or childcare vouchers. Cheques should be made payable to “Aspire Childcare Project Ltd”. We accept vouchers from the following schemes: Edenred, Sodexo, Fideliti and Computer Voucher Services.

If cheques are not honoured you will be liable for any bank charges incurred. You will then be required to pay by cash or postal order in the future. Please ensure that fees are paid promptly. Failure to pay the fees by the specified time, including late collection fees incurred for previous month, can result in your child’s After School place being terminated and loss of your deposit. If you are having difficulty paying fees, please speak in confidence to the Manager.

The price per session per child applies to all children. This is payable for all booked sessions including when your child is sick, or on holiday (regardless of the amount of notice given).

Changes to days and cancelling your place

You must give us one month’s notice of termination, or of changes in attendance. If you need to change the days that your child attends, please contact the Manager. We try to accommodate such changes wherever possible.

Temporary changes

Please remember that we need to know if your child will not be attending the Club for any reason. Even if you have informed your child’s school, you still need to notify us, as the school does not automatically pass this information on to us. If your child doesn’t attend a booked session, we will have to treat them as a ‘missing child’ unless you have notified us of their absence.

If you know in advance of any days when your child will not be attending during the following week, please try to let the Manager know by Friday at the latest. In cases of illness or emergency when notice cannot be given, please call as soon as you can. Contact details can be found at the end of this policy.
